If It's Not Broken, it will

Brutal. Frustrating. Exasperating - Back on it, the last two months were actually quite comical. So here goes.

In the middle of July, my son Dell caught a cold, I mean a virus, really bad. I tried all kinds of intermediate steps to keep the system crash completely. Update, updated anti-virus, which could not get rid of the attackers. Added spyware software, diagnostic and some other attackers then tried to delete some files to keep the computer from crashing. After 5 hours, things seemed to get better.

But I was approaching uncharted waters for me. You see,
I'm pretty good at fixing things, but somethings beyond me well. At this point, I called my
Neil friend who knows this stuff computer inside and outside. He said: "It looks like you're on the right track, but if you remove many files attacked, you must be careful. Try this one thing more, and then restart. So I did that Neil was charged and tried to restart. As the computer is restarted, the screen says something like turn off the system before your C drive is completely destroyed.

Unfortunately, I was a little late to the closing. The computer was fried. Well, I thought. It's the middle of summer and I'm sick of my son watching this screen. I'll fix later. And I do not
have the heart to join Neil and tell him the news.

My son was really disappointed. I was not. Maybe just a little upset that I had spent 10 hours trying to save the system. Many work with disastrous results. So I said, "Son, it's a beautiful day outside. Why not mow the lawn? We are going to celebrate this weekend. Might as well get it now. "

So CJ goes to the garage, the mower out and starts it up. No problem, I thought.
About 20 minutes later, CJ comes into the house. "Dad, I can not restart the mower. Can you help me?" Said the Chief Justice. I think nothing of it, the Chief Justice was often difficult to get the mower restarted.
His arms are not quite long enough yet to start the mower at times.

Our Toro 21 "mower has been very reliable for 14 years. Only been in the shop once. Give him everything I have, I pull on the rope 10 times. Can Get It Started. This time, I think something is not right here. We let the mower cool down and tried to start it again. No luck. Or should I say, Bad Luck.

CJ and I take the mower to the store to get the net heart. The owner / operator of the site lawnmower repair takes a look at the mower and said: "You can not get there for 3 weeks" I think I could probably fix this thing in 2 minutes. if I new what he knew. "After some haggling, he says he'll give us a call in 2-3 weeks.

Until now, there had not been a very good day, but what could go wrong. CJ and I head home for a mid-afternoon snack. As we move into the kitchen, I see water all over the floor and the pool grows. What the heck is going on?

We Pull the refrigerator from the wall and there's water everywhere. So we cut the water.
It's late Saturday afternoon, but at least this time I have the right man for the job. I call my rich friend who sold me the fridge and tell him it's an emergency. Get over hear immediately.

Rich says, "Well Carl, your refrigerator running? Right. So what's the emergency? It's Saturday afternoon late and my repair men were behind all day. I replied coldly and calmly (not really), "Rich but the icemaker will not work and it's the middle of summer and you come to our party next week. Right? And if you knew the kind of day I had, you would certainly send someone here right now .. "Rich said reluctantly, he will push us to the end of the day.

At eight o'clock, the mechanic comes to our door. There are troubleshooting here and announces that he needs to get a valve truck. He comes back and 15 mintes later the numbers
the universal valve does not work on the GE refrigerator. He will order the part. Probably be 2-3 weeks to get the part. I think 3-2 weeks, 2-3 weeks is to take today. This is absolutley ridiculous.

Person can not do something half decent these days? It seems that everything breaks. So I
head to the family room. Nestlé to my favorite Lazy Boy chair. Turn on the Sony (which I bought from Rich) and call it a day TV. To be continued -
